Sundeck & La Piscine
Sun lovers will enjoy time on the sundeck while soaking up the sun's gentle rays and enjoying a foot massage or sipping a cocktail. La Piscine swimming pool with private cabanas and 360-degree views is also an inviting site. This conditioned freshwater pool is the largest tourist one in the Gulf of Tonkin, with an area of 32m2, and 1.2m at the shallow end. Sun loungers and parasols are always available by the pool for you to get a tanned skin. The Heritage sundeck is a great place for light exercises in the morning, seeing galaxies with a telescope, or holding a wedding or birthday party. Enjoy epic views with specialty cocktails from the top-deck bar will be a memorable time.
L'Art de l'Annam
L'Art de l'Annam is an onsite special space dedicated to art. It was inspired by the 1933 book of the same name by Henri Gourdon, the first president of Indochina University. The book presents the objective point of view of a French who lived there for a long time. It was illustrated with important documentary photographs, helping readers better understand Annam society in the early 20th century, as well as the architecture, sculpture, paintings, and handicrafts of the country at the time. The Heritage L'Art de l'Annam has its exhibition with a gallery of the first works of artist Pham Luc, also known as the Picasso of Vietnam. Works of other famous Vietnamese artists and painters who graduated from Indochina Fine Arts School are also honorably exhibited here. In the art gallery, visitors will find their pleasure in viewing antique postcards, stamps, and original 20th-century photographs collected by the owners of Heritage Cruises. If required, we can organize art appreciation programs and auctions on this luxury ship.
White Lotus Spa
What the warm rays of the sun do to your body, our spa will do for your soul as well. White Lotus Spa is named after Vietnam's beautiful and pure national flower like the values that this place brings. With two private rooms on the top deck, silent and well-equipped, White Lotus Spa is a place where all the senses converge for enjoyment. Here a full range of holistic, restorative, and energetic treatments are provided by our skillful therapists.
Bach Thai Buoi Library
Let's visit the most exquisite floating library in Vietnam. The library is inspired by the spirit of Bach Thai Buoi, who was instrumental in developing the North's waterway transport in the early 20th century. The book-filled library is located upstairs, a comfortable setting to read and relax. Bach Thai Buoi Library has a rich collection of books on topics such as art, culture, architecture, artwork, literature, travel, and 1930s French Indochina. Here you can find books on Bach Thai Buoi, memories of the Red River, the secret history of King Bao Dai, paintings and life of Pham Luc, the Picasso of Vietnam, or the artbook "Vien Tham Vinh Bac Bo" written by Mr. Pham Ha, founder and owner of Heritage Cruises.
Van Don Shop
The shop is named after the most important trading seaport in Vietnam from the 12th to 16th centuries, which is located in the southeast of Halong Bay, a few miles from Cat Ba Islands, and lies on Bai Tu Long Bay. As far back as the 12th century, Van Don was a trading center for precious goods with merchant ships from across the region, such as Java (Indonesia), Siam (Thailand), Japan, India, and China. In our shop on the upper deck, you will find thoughtfully selected handcrafted products, silks, pearls, jewelry, and signature souvenirs specially designed for Heritage Cruises. Featured items here include pieces from talented local artisans. These items are a bridge to connect their communities to friends around the world. We believe that heritage tourism can boost the economic and civic vitality of a community or region.
Art Corridor - Heritage's Masterpiece
The wooden staircase in the middle which leads to the upper floors is Heritage's masterpiece. The staircase comes with beautiful paintings surrounding it and is always sparkling under the natural light of the sun and the moon pouring down from the skylight. The clever design of the skylight ensures that air flows throughout the ship. Lighted up in the evening, crystal chandeliers create a cozy atmosphere in the reception and lobby areas.
Outdoor Lounges
Our two outdoor lounges are designed for the greatest comfort, spaces for you to watch the sunrise or sunset. One is located at the stern of the ship, the other is at the bow, and both are on the top deck. In both lounges, guests have comfortable sun loungers and plenty of shade in the front, along with a well-stocked rooftop bar, perfect for luxury holiday evenings. The lounges are great for movie watching after dinner. We have a selection of the latest movies and classics about Vietnam and the region.
Red River Living Room
Named after the longest river in the north of Vietnam, the Red River living room with its nostalgic panoramic view takes us back in time to the 1930s. Originating in China, the Red River flows through the capital Hanoi and several provinces in northern Vietnam before emptying into the Gulf of Tonkin, forming the fertile Red River Delta. Located on the top deck, the perfect place to relax and watch life on both sides of the river during the trip. Lay yourself on a bench, in the gentle breeze, and enjoy the ever-changing landscape through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. This place is great for a favorite drink, afternoon tea, or relaxing with evening entertainment.
Gym
Vacations are all about taking time for yourself – and at Heritage Cruises, we believe you should be free to use that time for the activities you love. This is why our gym is special as it is for passengers who don't want to forget their exercise routine even while away from home. The floor-to-ceiling windows of this air-conditioned room are perfect for exercising while enjoying the incredible views of Halong Bay. Our gym is open 24 hours to perfectly fit your schedule.
Culinary
One of the world's most beloved gifts is food. Vietnamese food is no exception. Its flavors are prized for the freshness and unique blend of textures, flavors, and aromas. Aboard Heritage Cruises, this gift is presented to you like a culinary journey where you can enjoy food and beverages and relax. There are things and places for you to explore while cruising with us: restaurants, indoor and outdoor lounges, wine cellar, poolside bar & pool table...
Bach Dang wine cellar
Bach Dang is a river near Halong Bay and Cat Ba Islands where the famous Battle of Bach Dang River took place in 938 AD. At the battle, lord Ngo Quyen led his army to defeat the invading forces of the Chinese state of Southern Han. The victory ended centuries of Chinese imperial domination in Vietnam. Expected the strength of invaders, Ngo Quyen had set up massive sharpened stakes on the river bed. At high tide, the stakes were covered by water. As the Southern Han sailed into the estuary, Vietnamese force lured them to follow upstream. When the tide fell, the Southern Han warships were stuck in the stakes and sunk. Half of the invaders were killed and drowned, including their leader. Ngo Quyen's tactics were later reused in 1288 by Tran Hung Dao in another battle at Bach Dang River against the Mongols. Halong Bay has a cave named Dau Go (Wooden Stakes) which is said to be the place where Tran Hung Dao hid the stakes before the battle. Named after these famous battles, the Bach Dang wine cellar has a selection of wines with the meaning of victory. You can visit the cellar with our wine taster or captain to choose the best wine to complement your menu choice for dinner at Le Tonkin restaurant. We also offer guests the opportunity to enjoy dinner in the cellar, if space is available. Here the lights and magical surroundings create an intimate experience for any special occasion.
Le Tonkin Restaurant
Using the old name of Northern Vietnam during French Indochina, the decoration of Le Tonkin Restaurant, where your dinner is served, evokes nostalgia for the old Tonkin. Exploring the wonder of nature aboard a cruise has its unique beauty and culture. With our onsite pool and poolside bar, your experience now becomes more special than ever. Soak up the sun, take a dip in the pool, or lounge on the poolside sun loungers for a refreshing drink while enjoying panoramic views of the unspoiled islands in Halong Bay.
