They both died in despair and turned into two statues in the caves.

In the eastern gate of Trong Cave, you see a stone statue that looks like a man facing out the sea. In Trinh Nu Cave stays another statue looking like a lying girl with long hair and crying eyes. The caves, nowadays, are an eternal symbol of love with couples.
